Connecting ChatGPT

Connect StoreMCP to ChatGPT via Connectors.

ChatGPT supports MCP servers through Connectors (available on ChatGPT Business, Enterprise, and Team plans).

Add the connector

  1. In ChatGPT, click your avatar → Settings → Connectors
  2. Click Add connector
  3. Choose Custom MCP server
  4. Fill in:
    • Name: StoreMCP
    • Server URL: https://your-site.com/wp-json/storemcp/v1/mcp
    • Auth: Bearer token → paste your API key
  5. Save

The connector becomes available in new chats. Pick it from the connector menu under the composer and ask a question.

Draft a product description for a new organic pasta in Spanish

Limitations

  • ChatGPT limits how many tools can be active in a conversation. If you have all modules enabled, you may want to disable the ones you don't use for a given chat from StoreMCP → Modules.
  • Free ChatGPT accounts don't currently have access to Connectors.
ChatGPT Plus

If you don't have ChatGPT Business/Enterprise, you can still use StoreMCP via Claude, Cursor, or any other MCP-capable client.
